Cog Zeplin released a notecard to the group recently explaining the plans that have had to be made for the future of C&C Creations.  I will add it in full below.

After 4 years in Secondlife and nearly 3 years of being the owner and creator of C&C Creation products, real life has presented me with a situation in which I no longer know if my last login will be my last.   Knowing this, I now have to handle things while I still able to do so.  It deeply saddens me to have to announce that while I handle these challenges RL presents me, I need to step back from the busy SL I created and the stresses just a simple login can present to me.  I pray to get through these challenges and hopefully return to SL to create things once again, but it is unknown at this time if I will ever be able to do that.

Chloe and I created C&C Creations with a mission of making products that anyone could enjoy without having to go broke enjoying them.  I have also stated all along that if I ever had to leave the game, I would make sure that my creations would live on as long as possible, so with that in mind, I have asked a long time friend of mine, Microft Waffle to take over ownership of the AltLife Turtles.  I have turned over the entire AltLife product to him to do with it as he sees fit, knowing that he knows my wishes.

The C&C Cactus is a whole other story, it is not easy to turn that product over to anyone, in that there are servers involved and it is a more hands on product.  Chloe and I spoke at length regarding what to do, and it was very clear that our choices are very limited due to the RL situation I have in front of me.

What we have decided to do with the C&C Cactus is to distribute copiable water to the customers that will keep the exciting cactus alive without anyone spending and linden on them.  BUT, the servers will not run past March 1st 2013, making any fruit from them no good after that date.

My intention is that if I am later able to return to SL, I will bring back the Cactus, update them and thanks to the server data, get new product back to the current customers that enjoy them now.  IF, RL does not present the opportunity for me to return to SL, there is a plan for the scripts to be handed to someone along with the current cactus builds along with my wishes of making things right with those that currently have the product.

I wish I could say more about with is happening in my life right now, but I cannot do that at this time, but I will say that this is the first time in a long time that I am actually scared.  I don’t know what the future holds.

I want to thank everyone that have not only been our customers, but have also been good friends along the way.

I am happy to report that Microft Waffle has already begun sharing the new plans for the AltLife Turtles.  All Turtle and also Grouse needs can be found at his store at Jungle Island.  He has moved to a new vendor system so previous affiliate vendors will no longer work.  I also have a current affiliate vendor at Sparrowtree Breedables.    A box of copyable C&C Cactus Seeds and a copyable water has also been sent out for Cactus Breeders.  These are No Trans but will give Cactus lovers a chance to enjoy the cactus beyond the 181 days of their life.

I know that this is something that Cog has long put consideration to and it shows a very special heart that he places such importance on giving breeders that opportunity to continue to enjoy what he has made.  He understands the fact that once you release a breedable onto the market it develops a life that is no longer about the company but the breeder that puts heart and work into.  I think more companies large and small should put consideration into a legacy plan for their breedables, as it’s a truth that they develop a life of their own and that others have invested into.

I consider Cog and Chloe dear friends and certainly hope Cog’s health issues improve and he will be able to continue to fight the good fight for XS scripting in SL.  And anyway I’ve still got my Roo voucher waiting to be claimed.
